As part of the next step in the growth strategy of Hakbijl BV (also known as Hakbijl Glas) Ed Hakbijl decided to hand over all of his shares to Eric Voges. Ed Hakbijl remains involved with the company, providing continuity and guaranteeing a smooth transition. Eric Voges has been assisted in this acquisition by Tim van der Meer of “Marktlink Fusies & Overname” (a mergers and acquisitions specialist).

Eric Voges is a strong leader with a track record in building organizations and brands in various consumer products in Europe. He has an innovative commercial drive and has proven to be able to achieve substantial and sustainable growth.

The company showed excellent returns in a challenging market. Eric Voges is convinced that the company is ready for a significant international growth. Hakbijl Glas is an important international player in decorative glassware (for lifestyle, floristry and garden centres) primarily designing its own products. The company was founded 80 years ago by Jan Hakbijl, father of Ed Hakbijl.

Ed Hakbijl and his brothers expanded the company in the following years and under the exclusive leadership of Ed Hakbijl the company has been prepared for international growth. Hakbijl Glas is based today, in a state-of-the-art logistic centre of over 16.000 pallet places (10.000 m²) in Lelystad, The Netherlands. The international company obtains its products from over 10 countries and generates sales in over 80 countries worldwide.
